OUR VALUES
To carry out this vision and mission, Strathcona County Community Mediation Society will provide dispute resolution services that are:
- readily accessible
- confidential
- free of charge to the parties who participate in the process
- supplementary to existing legal and civil systems
- delivered by trained and skilled mediators
- entered into voluntarily through request or referral; and
- offered in an unbiased and supportive environment
OUR ORGANIZATION
SCCM is a not-for-profit organization committed to assisting and educating County residents to resolve conflict respectfully. SCCM governed by Board of Directors, who are nominated and elected by members in good standing at the Annual General Meeting. The Board is responsible for all aspects of operating a Society and does so in accordance with the Society’s bylaws and policies and procedures.
SCCM has been active as a Society in Strathcona County since 1995.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The Program Director engages volunteers and provides direction, coordination, and consultation regarding society functions within Strathcona County Community Mediation Society to: daily tasks such as intake and administration duties, support to the Board of Directors, networking and relationship building with community organizations and referral sources, volunteer support, evaluation and updating Society documents and materials, grant and funding proposals, scheduling of mediations, workshops and other SCCM services.
